She's Always Been There

One word that describes my mom pretty well is INVOLVED. Growing up she was Room Mom in all my classes, Field Trip Coordinator, PTA something or other, Sunday School Teacher, AWANA Leader and all the while attending any sporting event or performance my brother and I ever had. And an empty nest hasn't slowed her down one bit. Between hosting Bible Study, going to doctors appointments with her Step Dad, being a Mentor Mom at MOPS, and giving cancer patients rides to Chemo Therapy she remains involved in a number of things. And somewhere in there she manages to stay involved in my life as well as the lives of my girls. She's not the kind of Grandma who sits on the couch and watches her grandchildren play. No, she's on the floor with them letting them put stickers all over her face!

So thanks, Mom, for always being around. The time you invest in my life and in the lives of so many others is a priceless gift. Happy Mother's Day to YOU!
